The Episcopal Church Welcomes You! The Church of the Good Shepherd Welcomes You!
Welcome is a part of what we are about as "church." We are an intentional community, drawn together to celebrate God and to welcome one another, friends and strangers alike, in the name of God. As the fall season arrives and children start back to school, we welcome parents to bring their children so that their children can receive a Christian education as well as a secular one. It is important for our children to learn the ancient stories and the current application of the values these stories contain. It doesn't matter if your children are 3 0r 13, the time is now, and welcome awaits them and you.
Of course, welcome goes beyond children! All are welcome, old and young, rich and poor, sick and well and all the colors of the rainbow. We all need to have a place that welcomes us, that is safe for us to be who we are, to be known and to know others in the Spirit of God's love for all. As we live out the welcome of others, our own hearts are expanded in the ability to give and receive the love God has for us through others. Welcome is only the beginning, but it is an important beginning. Welcome leads to deeper connections, to new relationships, to seeing God in one another, to serving God in one another. So Welcome all to Good Shepherd! Welcome Back. Welcome for the First Time. Welcome for a day or for the rest of your life. Blessings, The Rev. Fain Webb
